The brief

To unlock potential and leadership to enrich the daily lives of young Arab women aged 15-21 during a six-week developmental programme in Dubai. Encourage teamwork, friendship, openness and sharing.

Help the girls address the questions “who am I, where do I want to be and what do I need to do to get me there?”

The solution

Many of us spend years trying to work out what’s ‘right’ and how to be in the world, how to fit in, how to be like everyone else, or how to be different from everyone else and still fit in!

We used:

• Story
• Metaphor
• Visualisation
• Horse whispering
• Identifying personalities through feet

This provided a fertile environment for curiosity, learning and fun. The programme taught the girls how to take control of their thinking process and create a sense of empowerment, safety and awareness.

Impact

The change in the girls attitude was clearly visible. They were more open, more engaged, more able to see what they could achieve. Importantly their language was empowering - they were excited about their future and goals.

The horse whispering was a huge success. We knew about it from the film, but didn’t realise how it could help self development.

In the metaphor sessions, Ali’s calm and fun way of talking about creativity and converting negative to positive were a real highlight. The girls appreciated the new approach and openness.

The identifying personalities session which used feet was interesting and fun. Amazing that it’s so true!
