Angus Clark

Angus Clark

Angus specialises in self-development through the medium of the holistic exercise of tai chi and qigong. His 27 years of study reflect an enthusiastic research into and passion for how the ancient principles from these arts can become a valuable tool for individuals and teams in the modern world.

Tapping into the body’s innate wisdom, Angus facilitates enquiry, using personal moves and interactive partner exercises, into themes such as personal energy management; learning to lead through following; understanding change as a creative process; and improving office management and team working skills based on principles of listening, sensitive direct action and response awareness.

Angus is a movement consultant, author and group facilitator as well as being a gifted and experienced tai chi instructor (TCUGB). Using his classical training as a platform (he was the last westerner to study in 1987, with the late grandmaster of tai chi Dr. Chi Chiang Tao), Angus distils tai chi to its essence and now works with a wide range of people from many walks of life, enabling them to realise potentials and engage positively with the challenges of modern living.

He is Head of School and Senior Instructor at his School of Living Movement based in Devon, UK, and has written several books on tai chi and qigong.

Harriet Worthington

Harriet Worthington

Horses have evolved to be highly sensitive to the thoughts, feelings and behaviours of other creatures around them. Like humans, they are social and hierarchical creatures and many of their priorities are similar, such as the need to belong and social cohesion, being flexible enough to adapt to changing conditions or environment, and making alliances that bring security, comfort and influence. Thus their nature makes them wonderful facilitators for personal development because, without judgment or agenda, they reflect us back to ourselves.

They respond to positive leadership and they challenge us when that is not shown. They forgive us for our mistakes because they exist fully ‘in the moment’. They glaze over or disassociate when our intentions are suspect or unclear, while they flourish in responsive, two-way partnerships in which vision and direction are clear. The horses offer ‘live’ biofeedback, following which participants can experiment with or modify their ways of ‘doing’ and ‘being’.

Harriet is an experienced and certified facilitator of Equine Assisted Growth and Learning, and her training with Monty Roberts in natural horsemanship (or ‘horse-whispering’) enables her to interpret the responses of the horses to those participating in her workshops. Her approach is not that of traditional horsemanship which was founded on control and human expedience, but rather on a high level of two-way communication and mutual recognition of each others’ needs and wishes, leading to greater motivation and performance.

Harriet designs playful activities that bring participants into close contact with the horses, working on issues in leadership such as influence, authenticity, connecting more deeply with the Higher Self, becoming more intuitive, developing a greater self-belief, experiencing challenge and heightening confidence. The subjective experience of participants is drawn out and the meaning developed during reflective facilitation, supported by feedback from observation and video clips.

As well as being a skilled horsewoman she is an experienced group facilitator. Her clients include GlaxoSmithKlein, Paypal, Apple, Royal Mail, a division of Ogilvie, Tamar, the Shaw Trust and Look Ahead Housing Association. She has recently spent three weeks in Dubai teaching leadership skills to 55 Arab professionals. Harriet has been a Probation Officer for eight years, her approach being one of releasing potential. She has trained in motivational interviewing, brief solution focused therapy, and has a Foundation Certificate in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her work approaches mind, body and spirit as an indivisible One, and she is particularly interested in energy-focused work as a swift and effective means of personal and professional growth and transformation. As well as group sessions, she is also available for individual consultation.
